South of Spain to the south of Sussex.
The vision to behind Fig. is to create a little Mediterranean haven in the middle of Sussex. Our goal is to create an atmosphere along with sublime Spanish dishes to remind you of the sun and sea of the mediterranean coastline.
We believe in locally sourcing our food, which is why all ingredients are found within a 30 mile radius. Our fish is all caught from Littlehampton seafront, our meat is Sussex reared and most of our veg is grown in our very own vegetable garden.
Alongside locally sourced produce it is also imperative to us that our menu is all served fresh. The fresher the produce the more vibrant the colours in each dish, this is why our dishes don't just make your tastebuds happy but aesthetically please the eye.
A Bit About Us!
We are the Cliftons, a husband and wife that has always loved their food!
Born in Rustington and growing up in the heart of the village, Alex has had the opportunity to get to know many of the locals and businesses around the area. Alex' previous profession was a musician that was typically booked for 100 -150 performances per year. His love for music is the inspiration for the live music nights that happen on every first Friday of the month!
Whilst Jessica was born in Brighton, she grew up in the Western region of Canada. 8 Years ago she moved back to England and made her name running large events across Sussex. This is where she fell in love with the hospitality sector and dreamt of having her own restaurant. Jessica also has a huge passion for interior design, this can be seen through the mediterranean aesthetics that flow through the restaurant!
Our passion for food is outstanding and our collection of cookbooks in our home couldn't illustrate this enough! We love cooking and entertaining, and therefore created Fig. a Cafe and Tapas Restaurant where our passion for food can feed the village.
